School childrens are teaching alphabets to their unlettered mothers in a path-breaking system to boost female literacy in the most backward regions.

Extraordinary teaching underway in new created district of Sangareddy in Telangana is brainchild of Manicka Raj Kannan a 2005-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer who is a Collector in that remote area.

The children of unlettered homes are at a disadvantage because they are not acquainted with the shape of the alphabets or can read the words from the start.

There is no one to watch what they are doing or learning and no one to guide them. Without proper guidance, they never learned to read, write or identify letters. This put them in a disadvantageous position.
