Ans: Coils of electric toasters and electric irons made of an alloy rather than a pure metal because the resistivity of an alloy is higher than thepure metal. Also at high temperatures, the alloys do not melt easily.

Hey,
The coils of electric irons and electric toasters are made of an alloy because they have a high resistance which allow them to conduct less amount of electricity. These alloys didn't have any free electrons and hence make them to conduct heat energy.
If we use a pure metal instead of alloys then it will not produce sufficient amount of heat energy as it is a good conductor.
