Ladakh is said to be the only cold desert of India. It is always dry and freezing cold here in Ladakh with less than 10 cm of rainfall annually.
Generally, Ladakh won’t get affected by the monsoons of India as it lies in the rain shadow region of Himalayas. However the place is severely cold one can easily feel the heat of sun because of the thin air prevailing in Ladakh.
