Why are election symbols given to the political party?

to differentiate between two things you need something . assume that you are buying a T-shirt of same color but the brand name diffenciate them .similar to political party

As we saw that different eletion symbol are given to different political parties because in India all the people are not educated and they can't recall there rerpresentative by there name which they have to selected so political parties have special symbol. by which uneducated person can geave vote without any problem.
