Explanation:

They return lots of oxygen to the atmosphere. They sequester a lot of carbon dioxide. And they contain many plants and animals that may provide us with new and important medicines and other chemicals.

Answer:

Equatorial forests are important because of the trees and their products e.g. timber, mahogany, and

teak, and quinine. Apart from this, the equatorial forests keep the oxygen level steady in the

atmosphere. Plants in sunlight absorb carbon dioxide which then turns into sugar to supply the plant

with energy, and give off oxygen. And where the forests are cleared sugar cane, rice, oil palms,

mangoes, cocoa, rubber, coffee, etc. are grown.
