Why are prop roots not in every plants ?

So prop roots develop from the lower nodes  .These roots go down in the soil and branch further , giving the plant ADDITIONAL support required ! Prop roots- when roots arise from horizontal aerial branches and grow straight down into the earth. They provide mechanical strength to the plants.
