Forest are home to a large number of plants and animals.Forests are the "green lungs" and serve as the water and air purifying system of nature. In forests, there are different types of interacion tat is occuring between living and non-livin components.Plant and animals also depend on each other.plants consume carbon dioxide from that is liberated by the animals during the process of respration.Plants use the carbon dioxide to prepare food by the process of photosynthesis(green plants prepare food with the help of carbon dioxide ,water, sunlight and chorophyll. This is known as photosynthesis). The oxygen released by the plant during the process of photosynthesis is consumed by the animal for respiration. In this way, plants and animals help in keeping the balance of cabon dioxide and oxygen in the atmosphere.the decaying animal dung also provides nutrients to the seedlings to grow.By harbouring greater varieties of plants, the forest providsgreater opportunitiesfor food and habitat for the herbivores.Larger numbr o herbivores means increased availability of food for a vaiety of carnivores. The wide variety of animals helps the forest to regenerate and grow.Decomposers help in maintaining the supply of nutrients to the growing plants in the forest. Therefore, the forest is the "Dynamic Living Entity".

Rainforests are a habitat to a vast number or rare species of plants and animals. They provide large number of raw materials for humans. They even bring rainfalls on earth. They even have a large number of trees that perform photosynthesis and produce oxygen into the atmosphere.  In other words they are essential for sustaining life on earth. Hence they are also known as living jungles.
