Why are some substances biodegradable and some non-biodegradable?

This is because the enzymes and bacteria that decomposes waste can only break down natural substance into simpler and non-harmful substance...They cant break down man made or factory made items into simpler items.

some substances are biodegradable while some are not because the bacteria cannot break it down and mix it with the soil and they are also not naturally obtained .
