Why are the coils of electric irons and electric toasters made of an alloy rather than a pure metal?

because alloy dont melt at high tempreature they have high resistivity

the resistivity of alloy is higher than that of pure metal , alloys do not melt easily at high temperature ,so.. alloys are preferred over pure metals
