the means of transportation and communications are called the lifelines of a nation and its economy because of the following points:
1. trade, transport and communication are complementary to each other.
2. transportation and communication help a country in the times of natural calamities like earthquake, Tsunami,etc.
3. they help in the movement of goods and services from the supply of location to demand locations.
4. they contribute to the economic development by the development of agriculture and industry.
5. they help in maintaining defence of a country.
6. they contribute to the promotion of trade.
