The d-block elements are called the transition elements.

'D' block element are called as transition element .coz transition means a bridge so transition element means D-block element behave like as a bridge in modern periodic table metal are located at left hand side of table andnon metal are right side of table so, metallic characters decreases from left to right and so transition elements that located in a middle of table it's look like as a bridge and hence Dblock elements called as transition element.
