Non-verbal communication is more powerful than verbal communication because we express ourselves through body gestures every single day, even if we are conscious of our own actions. If someone is nervous, they will express themselves by holding their own hands, tapping their foot, squeezing their hands together, etc. even though that someone may know that nervous body language can equal uncertainty, negative feedback, skepticism from the audience if you are speaking and informing them about something important, etc.
