why are volcanoes called mountains of accumulation?

they are called mountains of accumulation because Volcanic “mountains” are formed from the accumulated ejecta and lava that emerge from the cone or caldera of the volcano. As soon as magma comes out from the earth's interior to the earth surface, it is known as lava. This lava after coming out starts solidifying which leads to the formation of layers upon layers.
