Misuse of Dastak by Britishers became the cause of The Battle Of Buxar.

Dastak was a official permission for Britishers to enter geographic area by (Farukh Siyar) and do trade.

According to the terms and conditions offered by Farrukh Siyar's farman of 1717 the East India Company was allowed to trade in Bengal without paying the normal customs duty.

The Farman stated that this right of free trade was restricted to the company alone. According to the terms and conditions of Farman, the right was not to be misused by the private traders of the company. But in real, the private traders of the company were misuing the free trade.

This led to the decrement of government revenue .

The misuse of dastak then became the beginning of clases between the Nawab and the Company.
