Although bile juice doesn't contain any digestive enzyme still it is considered a very important part of digestion because of generally two reasons:
1)Bile contains a large amount of sodium bicarbonate which being alkaline in nature acts on the acidic chyme(the soluble form of the food in the duodenum coming from the stomach; bile always acts on the food in the duodenum, the upper part of the small intestine) and neutralizes it for the enzymes of the pancreatic juice and the intestinal juice to act on it.
2)Secondly bile salts reduces the surface tension of the large fat droplets and breaks them down into smaller ones for the action of the enzymes, this phenomenon of the bile juice is often termed as the emulsification of fats.
