The bond pair in NH3 is close to N in N-H bond than the bond pair in P-H bond in PH3 . This is because the size of the nitrogen is small than phosphorus . As a result , the force of repulsion between the bonded pair of electrons in PH3 is more than inNH3 . Therefore the bond angle inPH3 molecule lesser than in NH3

Nitrogen show anamolous behaviour due to it's small size.
The N atom, being very small, pulls the hydrogen atom towards itself.
This makes the b.p of NH3
higher than PH3
