because we already know that bridge are made of steel and steel get rust due to presence of oxygen and water molecule in atmosphere and it make iron rust

due to the regular uses of bridge and due to the stress and presure the bridge losses it's elastic strength because of this it can collapse so therefore bridges are not safe after a very long use
