People of rural areas require higher calorie intake as compared to the people residing in urban areas because in rural areas people do ploughing, sowing etc. while in urban areas people sit in the comfort of their offices while working.
Hope this helps :)

Calorie requirement in rural area is 2400 calories per day whereas calorie requirement in urban areas is 2100 calories per day and it is higher in rural areas as there is more physical work. Lack of transportation facilities require people to walk a great distance, etc.
