why can't Sandy soil used to make pots?

because the particles are so big and rough and they are loosely packed, where as in a clayey soil the particles are closely bounded and they become hard on drying.

This is because Sandy soil has large air spaces and therefore cannot absorb enough water to hold it particles together to make a pot
