The small invisible holes are formed due to the evaporation of water content from the clay. The space left due to the evaporation of oxygen molecules forms the invisible tiny holes...or · It is an experimental fact just like all the laws of thermodynamics. It is the property of the clay used for pottery that when it dries off it forms very tiny and invisible holes.
