Stability in the aqueous medium depend upon the hydration energy of ions when they attract to water molecules.
So ,cupros ions does not exist in an aqueous solution because in aqueous solution, cuprous ion undergoes oxidation and reduces simultaneously to give copper and cupric ion ,hence it can't exist.
