Why curd or soar substances should not be kept in brass and copper vessels

Because of rusting ,a greenish layer forms on the surface of copper or brass vessel .This greenish layer is poisonous. If buttermilk ,curd placed in such a vessel it gets spoiled. Tinning is done to prevent all such Damages.

Curd and sour substance contains acids which reacts with copper and brass to form certain salts that are poisonous in nature and can cause food poisoning.

Hence, sour substance like curd, pickels, etc., should not be kept in brass and copper vessels.
