Molecules of gas are not tightly packed they are freely moveable in nature. example-O2, CO2. In other situation in solid molecules are tightly packed they are not freely moveable in nature. example- Duster,Chalk. If the molecules are freely moveable in nature than there density will be low and if they are not freely moveable in nature there density will be more.
