Bill Bramble thought so because he thought that society regarded boxing as a stupid thing and boxers are shameless.They thought that Boxing is a cheap entertainment.If Harold knew that his father was a boxer then he had to hear many things from the society.Thus would die of Shame.

According to bill , Harold was a model of behaviour and he had perfected in brains unlike himself,who was a boxer,going totally opposite.This made bill think that Harold would die with same.
