Evelyn Glennie was a deaf girl since her childhood when she was 11 years old. Her deafness was first noticed by her mother, when she called her name many times but she didn't listened.

It was confirmed when her marks deteriorated and her headmistress advised her parents to take her to a hospital and treat her with hearing aids and take her to a deaf children's school.

She had a gradual nerve damage in her hear. So, she wasn't abled to hear. As she grew up, her hearing ability was decreasing.

Evelyn used to remove her shoes while she used to play xylophone or any other musical instruments. The vibration of the sounds passed up her toes to her skin and even in her hair.

She used to feel more and more vibrations when she used to remove her shoes.
