reason for calling off non co operation movement:
*gandhi saw that this movement was turning violent in many places.
he thought that people (satyagrahis) must be trained properly for this first.
*chauri chaura incident which happened was it.in gorakhpur 22 policemen were burned alive during a very much peaceful demonstration.this was turning violent.so gandhi called off the movement.
*even the people within the congress were tired of mass struggles and wanted to go back and participate in elections which had been set up by the government of india act of 1919.
lahore session's significance:
the Lahore session of congress marked out some important points;
*a pledge was taken that 26th of January will be celebrated as independence day every year and every one should take pledge to struggle for the nation.
*this was under the president ship of jawaharlal nehru in december 1929 where the Lahore congress signed a "purna swaraj" which meant complete independence.
*this session at last served as a very important one in our history.
