The Salt act imposed by the British was outrageous as the they prohibitted the use and sale of salt without paying for taxes. This led to the beginning of the civil disobedience movement where Gandhi along with 79 satyagrahis walked on foot to Dandi loacted on the shore of the Arabian Sea.
That is where is violated the British Law by picking up handful of salt and made salt then and there with his people on the shore.
This is when Satyagraha was envoked all around the country and hope of freedom against the British was ignited among the people of India.
