  1. in his famous book Hind swaraj (1909) Mahatma gandhi declared that British rule was establish in India with the cooperation of Indians and has survived because of this cooperation
  2. if Indians refused to cooperate ,the British rule in India would collapse within a year and swaraj would come
  3. it should began with the surrender of titles that the government has awarded and a boycott of civil services ,army , police , courts and legislative councils , school and foreign goods .
  4. hence the non cooperation movement was started agaist it by gandhiji
