Helen found this wonder of finding beauty in everything around her after she learnt from her teacher the secret of naming every object around her. Her teacher, Miss Sullivan succeeded in impressing on her mind the value of knowing names of things and qualities. After this enlightenment, Helen's hunger for knowing the names of everything she touched became more intense. Since natural beauty abounded around her home, she touched all the beautiful objects of nature such as trees, flowers, blades of grass, earth, stones, etc. One day Helen had a bitter experience with Nature. She was sitting in a cherry tree, when Miss Sullivan suggested to have lunch in the tree;and she went home to fetch the lunch, leaving Helen alone in the tree. Soon a thunderstorm approached. The thundering, gale, and the change in the weather scared Helen. But before, Helen decided to climb down, Miss Sullivan rescued her. Thus Helen came to  know the two contrasting sides of nature.
