This is in my view a very important question for India and it's future generation. We need to be foresighted. We talk about India to become a superpower, which cannot be possible if we don't change ourselves from within.
Few points:

We Indians have a deep false illusion in our minds that 'we are the best in the world',may be so called cultural /historical inheritance we are proud of? How we concluded that we are the best, when we haven't seen culture outside of India personally. The problem is we Indians are like the frog stuck in the well, where the well seems to be the whole world. We should have easy access to travel to other countries, see their cultures and then conclude about ourselves.
We have the mentality of not following rules/having the thrill to break/bend the rules. (We are shortsighted, yes bending the rules do bring profit, but in the long run it's a curse)
