Mrs packletides was a vain lady.she wanted to prove herself superior to others she had a particular dislike for Loona Bimberton who had recently been carried eleven miles in an aeroplane by an Algerian aviator .Mrs Packletide wanted to prove that she was more adventurous than Loona Bimberton .she wanted to shoot a tiger only to outshine Loons Bimberton and to satisfy her jealously.
