Robin Hood lives in the forest because he had been outlawed.

During the period to be outlawed meant that all your possessions became property of the king and you lived outside of the law.

So you had no entitlement to anything, you couldn’t live with anyone as they would get in to trouble for harbouring an outlaw.

Why did Robin Hood live in the forest?

Robin Hood lives in the forest because he had been outlawed.

During the period to be outlawed meant that all your possessions became property of the king and you lived outside of the law.

So you had no entitlement to anything, you couldn’t live with anyone as they would get in to trouble for harbouring an outlaw.

And unlike today you couldn’t travel to a village outside Nottinghamshire to get work and live as there was a caste system that meant it was difficult to move around. So any new stranger stood out.

Which didn’t leave too many options.

At least in the forest you had shelter in Nottingham there is also an extensive cave system and you had food thanks to it being a royal forest with lost of kings dear.
