Dilute Sulphuric acid is not used in the preparation of hydrogen because concentrated acid will increase the rate of the reaction. Too rapid a reaction will lead to overpressurization and explosion. Also, it will lead to excess formation of hydrogen bubbles and lead to splashing of acid on the person around or damage the sensitive equipments.
