why do animal cells have many small vacuoles and plant cells have 1 or 2 large vacuoles?

animal cells don't have to store the food and minerals while the plant cells have to store the food and minerals in addition to various other activities. therefore plant cells have larger and less vacuole as compared to the animal cells...
