why do animals with more body weight has less number of heart beat?

INTRODUCTION:Heart is the muscular organ that pumps blood throughout the circulatory system.The force of contraction of the heart depends upon the muscles.

YES,there is a relation between body weight and heart beat rate.

If the body weight is more,heart beat is less because of the following reasons:

-Huge body surface area

-Blood takes alot of time to reach heart for oxygenation and circulation

-Weight of the heart will be more

EX:Blue Whale -wt of the body is 1,50,000kg;wt of the heart 750kg and number of beats/min is 7.

Animals with more body weight has less no. of heartbeat bcoz..
extra fat in body provides energy to heart and hence need less breathing and the rate of heartbeat is less
