Due to anomalous expansion of water they survive in frozen seas as when the temperature falls to 0 C the water at the surface gradually gets converted into ice. The water below ice continues to remain at 4 C .Icee being a poor conductor of heat does not allow the flow of heat from lake to the atmosphere and thus helps in keeping the water at 4C .At this temperature, The aquatic life survives...
