Because blood contains platelets, which prevents bleeding by clumping and clotting blood vessel injuries.

because of blood clotting process in which..
wounds > ruptured platelets > thrombokinase > pro thrombin ---->thrombin(in presence of Ca+)
> fibrenogene(which is a solute)----> fibrin(which is insoluble)
and then the formation of clot take place....
