why do female mosquitoes generally act as vectors?

BECAUSE Only certain species ofmosquitoes of the Anopheles genus—and only females of those species—can transmit malaria. Malaria is caused by a one-celled parasite called a Plasmodium.Female Anopheles mosquitoespick up the parasite from infected people when they bite to obtain blood needed to nurture their eggs.

Nah Not generally its mostly female mosquitoes who acts as vectors as males have not sucking tissues .. vectors like

Aedes 
Anopheles
culex

Acts as vectors ( belong to the phylum arthropoda)
