why do floods occur is there any reason across it try say or answer this

floods occur due to heavy rainfall and when the water over flows rom the water bodies.but flood always dont occur because of heavy rainfalls.floods occur when any water body cant hold or dont have the capacity to control the excess water then those excess water over flows to the land which is dry.and when there is a rapid ice melting floods occur.these floods create a lot of destruction and there will be loss of lives, loss of properties,assets and everything will be gone.
