Explanation:

reason is that multicellular organisms need special organs for exchange of gases with the environment because of prokaryotic cells found in the body. The cells are not in contact with the environment and therefore diffusion would not work in the exchange of gases. The organs in the body therefore serve this purpose.

ANSWER

  • Multicellular organism require special organs for exchange of gasses between their body and their environment.
  • Multi - cellular, as the name suggest, contains many cells.
  • The cells perform various tasks.
  • It is not possible for all these cells to be in constant contact with the environment.
  • Therefore,  there is a need to use other mechanisms to facilitate the exchange of gases.

For example - In Humans, Hemoglobin, a pigment which gives blood red colour, is used to transfer the oxygen and carbon - di - oxide in and out of the body.
