Anaerobic respiration
Muscle fatigue is the result of anaerobic respiration in the muscle cells. The lack of oxygen in muscles makes them use anaerobic respiration. Glucose is broken down to lactic acid and releases much less energy.
The word equation for anaerobic respiration is:
Glucose → Lactic acid + Little Energy
The build up of lactic acid in the muscles causes pain and stiffness. At the end of the exercise lactic acid is broken down using oxygen and the muscles recover. The volume of oxygen needed to do this is called the oxygen debt.

Hello ☺✌
our muscles breathe anaerobically beacuse less energy is released during anaerobic respiration beacuse the breakdown of glucose is incomplete .❤✌
