Why do oysters make pearls??? plz explain

pearls are a form of defence used by oysters. When something strange gets into its shell, the oyster covers the intruder with layers of a material which it produces. So the pearl is nothing more than a beautiful container!
   Pearls are soo beautiful that men soon thought of ways to copy this natural way of producing them. Japanese breeders insert foreign  bodies into the oyster shells to make the oyster form a pearl around it

oysters make pearls when they are irritated they make it for their defence
