Planets orbit their parent stars due to the fact that stars have greater mass than a planet by orders of magnitude. Due to more mass, the gravitational force of a star is much greater, due to which planets revolve around parent stars.
Planets do not revolve around other objects, because of the vastness of space. They are separated by hundreds of trillions of kilometers, due to which their gravitational force basically becomes zero. So, they don't get affected by their gravitational pull.
