Why do plants grow in better in soil than sand

Because the soil is fertile but sand is not so plants grow better on soil tha n sand

Plants grow better in soil rather than sand just because all their needs like , fertility , moisture , water and minerals , and many other are easily available in Soil while these are absent in Sand.
