Why do ruminants first send the food to the rumen and then chew it slowly as cud? Please explain.

This is because the ruminants eat grass or plants which are rich in cellulose which can not be digest easily so that's why ruminants first send the food to the rumen and then chew it again because they have some bacteria in their rumen to digest the cellulose so again they chew it as a cud
