Why do sloping roofs and small houses in hilly areas?

Answer:

All the houses in hilly areas have sloping roof so that snow will not accumulate on the roof and put excess pressure on it to cause damage to the roof. In hilly area there is a heavy rain every time and if house has a sloping roof water can easily slip down on the ground
