Why do sun and moon changes their size
Answers
Answer:
Explanation:
The sun and the moon do not change size. The only changes in size that we see on Earth are perception based changes. Basically, it’s like looking at a car a mile away versus looking at a car 20 feet away. The car 20 feet away looks a lot bigger than the one 1 mile away, right? But it isn’t. It just seems like the one farther away is smaller because it’s farther away. It’s the same with the Moon and Sun. Now, keep in mind that these are giant objects with massive distances, so when I say “closer” I mean a few hundred thousand to a million km closer. In winter time, the Earth is closest to the Sun and thus, the sun appears bigger, but only slightly. In summer, the Earth moves farther away from the sun so it seems a bit smaller.
The moon is a little different. There are the obvious phases of the moon that we see every month as it revolves around the Earth. Then there are the physical size changes that we observe with the naked eye. Just like with the Sun, the moon is only getting bigger because it gets closer on its orbital path around the Earth sometimes. It isn’t actually getting bigger, it just seems like it is.
