To make a distant object appear brighter and larger, we effectively need a bigger eye to collect more light. A telescope's ability to collect light depends on the size of the objective lens, which is used to gather and focus light from a narrow region of sky.

Dear Gaurav,

◆ Telescopes have large sized objective because -

- In telescope, lens at the front end of refractor is called the objective.

- It gathers the light from environment & focuses the image.

- Illumination plays an imp role in viewing distant object through telescope.

- In order to collect this extra light, objectives are larger in size.

Hope this helped. Thanks dear.
