Why do ventricles have thicker muscular walls than atria?

ventricles have thick walls because the pressure of blood under the walls of arteries is greater than in arteries

because...
 ventricles pump the blood to all the body ..
and this need more strength
atria collect blood from tissue ,this nee less strength
