Why do we celebrate new year's day on january 1st?

according to Julius ceaser around 45 b.c new year has to be celebrated on January 1 rather than March and also said that a person named Janus having two faces i think in his honour we celebrate new year 1st January and also the name January also came from his name i.e Janus(January)
